Group Riding Clinic #2
for A & B Riders
Led by Richard Anderson, Dave Smith, Susan Noble, Steve Aquilino & David Levinger
Registration is open - 20 participants maximum
In this clinic we target the specific mind set and skills needed to ride more cooperatively, safely, and efficiently in a group. The 35 mile loop for the clinic consists of 4 legs with relatively flat to moderate terrain. Before each leg the coach explains and models a set of group riding skills. Participants then ride in small groups while practicing, and receive real time feedback and suggestions from riding coaches. At the end of each section of riding there is a short debrief and discussion to consolidate and extend what is learned.
Riding cooperatively in a group is simple; it is not easy. The skills involved are perishable and take an ongoing effort to learn and apply. Even if you’ve already taken a group riding skills or paceline class, this clinic can be useful. Come out and enjoy the thrill of truly riding together.
What to bring:
Ride Leader Training Program - this class satisfies one of the requirements to complete the SRCC Ride Leader Training Program.
"The choice of route was excellent. Rollers provided chance to practice up and down hills under safe(er) conditions. Instructors were very knowledgeable and I liked the rotating groups”
“Wish everyone would take it - I have dropped off rides in the past due to not feeling safe riding in the group. “
“All the coaches along with Richard added so much to the class. They all emphasized different things and it was good to see their individual efforts and coaching styles. I would give them all high marks on their leadership and coaching abilities.” “This is a great class and good for all levels of riders. We should offer more classes and encourage all active riders to participate.”
