Hey, Clubmates. As you know, last year we used a portion of the PG&E settlement money to make reciprocal donations to the many organizations that contributed to our warehouse recovery. Those organizations were incredibly grateful for our contributions and many of them sent lovely paper notes thanking us. Click here to read some of the nice notes we got, and know that your generosity has gone a long way toward building community and helping others who need it. Steve

Thank you notes

Warehouse Recovery Fund - A Resounding Success

Thanks to each and every donor in helping us achieve our Warehouse Recovery Fund monetary goal. The success was complete. Equipment and materials are being purchased and organized in preparation for what
will be our best-ever Wine County Century and Terrible Two events to come.

The outpouring of generosity from our community, club members and friends was truly amazing, and we invite all to share fully in the accomplishment, especially as it took not years, but just a few months to achieve!

Thanks to the 1,100 individuals, clubs, and businesses who collectively donated more than $120,000, including:

  • $20,000 from the Santa Rosa Rotary, of Giro Bello fame, an early donation in the campaign that rocked our socks and made our huge goal seem possible
  • Another early donation, $10,000 from the Davis Bicycle Club, encouraging us that the greater bicycling community backed our recovery
  • Then $5,254 from Marin Cyclists presented with a big oversize check and even bigger cheers at our Holiday Party
  • Donations from 10 (!) other bicycle clubs from throughout northern CA, and as far away as San Luis Obispo. Click here for a list of their signature rides.
  • Another Rotary donation, from Clearlake Fire Relief Fund, $5,000
  • Organizations we normally support giving back to us, the Sonoma County Bicycle Coalition, and the Law Enforcement Chaplaincy Foundation of Tour de Fuzz
  • Hundreds of our own SRCC members, donations of all sizes
  • Donors from throughout California and from as far away as New York, Chicago, Texas and Japan!
  • Businesses both local and regional, check out the logo list and thank them
  • 660 in added donations from those registering in the Wine Country Century or buying WCC jerseys, which totaled $14,520
  • John Mills and his Sonoma Strong jersey sales, 100-strong, along with John's generous auction donation of his tour guide services at the Holiday Party
  • All Holiday Party attendees, led by Bridgette De Shields and her volunteer team, with celebratory donors, auction item donors, and auction item winners
  • And last but not least, the cash in the pass-the-hat at the January club meeting

With your support, SRCC and its warehouse has been "Renewed - Restored - (soon to be) Rebuilt," and we can add, Revitalized!

Thank you, thank you, thank you, and THANK YOU!

Please note that the SRCC is a tax-exempt non-profit, but not a 501c(3) organization and therefore financial contributions to the club are not tax deductible.
