WELCOME TO THE SANTA ROSA CYCLING CLUB
The SRCC is a social/recreational organization comprised of road cycling enthusiasts with a wide range of abilities and interests. Our purpose is to promote the safe and efficient use of bicycles by staging club rides and cycling events and by maintaining an active presence in the local community through safety programs and support of other non-profit groups.
The club was founded in the late 1960s as a racing team. Over the years, its focus has broadened to embrace many forms of cycling including recreational rides, bike commuting, long-distance touring, randonneuring and ultra-distance events. In the late 1980s, as interest in cycling grew, club membership really blossomed. Now we are the largest cycling club in the county, and perhaps in the North Bay, with close to 1600 members.
You can find a great deal of information about what is going on in the club by browsing through our website. If you still have questions about the club, please

CLUB RIDES AND MORE
Club members volunteer to lead rides throughout the week. These rides are listed on our
Calendar of Rides and Events
, and can range from introductory rides for beginners to challenging long distance rides for more ambitious riders.
Non-members are welcome to join us for a ride, but are asked to sign a liability waiver. This is a good way to sample club activities to see if this group is a good fit for you. If you do join the club, you will find other, off-the-bike activities on offer. We hold a monthly meeting at a local restaurant, often featuring speakers or films on subjects of interest to cyclists. We organize social events through the course of the year for members--picnics and dinners--where members get together in a setting at least a little distance away from the bikes. And based upon member demand and volunteer availability, we
offer clinics on everything from learning to change a flat tire to advanced paceline riding.
OUR MARQUEE EVENTS
Hundreds of SRCC members volunteer their time for one or both of our big events each year: the Wine Country Century and Terrible Two Double Century (with the newer Terrible 200K).
Wine Country Century
is one of the premier club-supported rides in Northern California. Held annually since 1980 on the first Saturday in May, it attracts riders to routes of 125, 100, 65, and 35 miles through the vineyards, orchards, and forests west and north of Santa Rosa. It has a well-deserved reputation as a great ride, combining superb scenery, entertaining roads, and cheerful, efficient support from our crew of member-volunteers.
has likewise earned a reputation...as one of the toughest double centuries in the United States, but also one of the most beautiful and best-supported doubles. Held in June each year since 1976, this event challenges its riders with 200 miles and over 16,000' of steep elevation gain, and--sometimes--with summertime temperatures on the high side of 100°.
In 2014 we introduced the Terrible 200K, a shorter but still tough enough version of the full 200 mile event.
