    WOMEN ONLY CLASS

In response to requests, we are offering this class in the women only format. Please see listing on October 15 for the same class open to all club members.

In this class we’ll go through the whole bike together, cleaning it off, and getting to know it better. Checking your bike over regularly is key to safety as you’ll catch problems before they cause a problem. It’ll also reduce the chances you’ll be stuck on the side of the road with a mechanical problem that can’t be repaired road side.

You are encouraged to bring your bike, and come prepared to get dirty. No previous mechanical experience required. I’ll share with you my bike check routine between rides. I’ll go over the things you should take a look at, indicators of problems, and the basic up-keep that all bike riders should be doing. I’ll share my check off list. I will not be going over how to do any of the repairs, rather what to look for so you’ll know repairs are needed.

Note: We're looking for folks who enjoy working on bikes and with the patience to be a kind and helpful assistant to participants during the class. You do not need to be an expert mechanic, contact the instructor if you are interested.

Location: In Santa Rosa, exact location will be sent to participants when you sign up for the class.

What to bring: You don't have to bring anything, but here are some recommendations :

    • Bring your bike, you will learn the most if you can see each step we are talking about on your own bike.
    • Bring a rag for cleaning off your bike
    • If you have some basic tools, particularly if you'd like to know how to use them, feel free to bring them.

“I'd very much appreciate more classes from Sherry. This class really helped "de-mystify" basic bike issues for many of us.“

“Sheri did a phenomenal job! She successfully covered a lot of material efficiently and effectively in the two-hour period.”

“The thorough inspection of the condition of the bicycle was presented clearly and the examples of what to look for gave substance to the class. Well done. “

    Who should take this clinic?

“Anyone riding a bike and wanting to know what basic bike maintenance they can do to prevent bike breakdowns and identify when bigger repairs are needed.”
